Why choose India for medical treatment? |
Because in India you will find top quality physicians and medical facilities equipped with the most modern technology. In India , we have the needed infrastructure and the professional qualifications for offering high quality medical assistance to patients from other countries for a lower price than in Europe and the United States . |
Why Gem Medicare? |
Because we offer a comprehensive care specifically designed for travelers: the standard medical packages we offer include more than just medical procedures: accommodation, transportation and personal assistance service are offered as well. We also offer other complementary services if the patient wishes to combine medical treatments with tourism. |
What medical services does Gem Medicare offer? |
Gem Medicare offers the following medical treatments: plastic surgery, bariatric surgery, dermatology, hair transplant, assisted fertilization, odontology, and ophthalmology. In each of the sections corresponding to the different specializations you will find a list of the available treatments.
The packages corresponding to surgical treatments include the fees for all the involved staff (surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurses) as well as the costs of the compulsory pre surgical studies.
You will find detailed information about all the services Gem Medicare offers if you visit the section Terms and Conditions of the Service. |
How is it that prices are so low? |
The services we offer have the standard fees for India (they are similar to what a middle class Indian would pay for medical services). The prices seem low because of the exchange rate: one dollar equals 45 Rupees. Therefore, for people living in industrialized countries India is a very convenient country. |
Can I trust the physicians that will attend me? |
Gem Medicare only works with the best physicians of the country. They are subjected to a very strict recruitment process based on professional background. The patient may consult the CV of the physician that will attend him/her. If you wish to see the list of professionals according to specialization, visit the section Pannel of Doctors. |
I cannot speak Hindi or any Indian language how can I communicate with the physicians? |
All the medical packages Gem Medicare offer include Indian assistance. One of our assistants will accompany you to every medical consultation and to the clinic on the day of the intervention. The assistant will be your personal interpreter and, at the same time, will answer all your questions regarding medical treatments.
The assistants we provide are not exclusive, they are assigned according to the availability, that is, one assistant may receive you at the airport whereas another will go with you to the medical consultation. |
What if I must postpone my trip due to personal reasons? |
If the patient must postpone the trip due to personal reasons after the deposit was made (30% of the package's total cost), he/she may ask for a reschedule. Gem Medicare will stick to the original price for 6 months after the date in which the trip was postponed, but once that period elapses, the package's price could be modified. The deposit will be held and considered as payment on account. Visit the section Terms and Conditions of the Service to see the cancellation policy. |
What if in the pre-surgical consultation the physician resolves that I cannot undergo the treatment? |
Gem Medicare recommends asking all your questions before the trip, especially if you suffer from any diseases such as diabetes, cardiopathies or high blood pressure, that will call for special cares in order to carry out the procedure. If the procedure is cancelled by decision of the physician, we will abide by the cancellation policy. Visit the section Terms and Conditions of the Service to see the cancellation policy. |
What happens if there are complications? |
In India, the law requires the patient to sign an agreement to state that he/she will undergo surgery on his/her own free will. If any problem arises and the treatment needs to be changed, the physician will inform you of the options so that you will be able to make the best decision. If by any reason you are in no condition to make a decision, the physician will discuss the matter with the person you have assigned as your guardian. You will be kept informed at all times and, if necessary, Gem Medicare will offer you the possibility of asking for a second opinion from another professional. |
What if I decide to leave earlier from India ? |
The physician decides the minimum time that the patient will need to stay in India in order to recover favorably. Gem Medicare will not be held responsible for the decisions made solely by the patient. |
What if I decide to stay longer in India ? |
If you wish to stay longer, you may get in touch with Gem Medicare in order to rearrange your trip. |
